This is the kind of black powder horn just like the mountain men carried as they pushed the frontier westward, fighting Indians and grizzly bears along the way size 15 inch.
A powder horn was a container for Gunpowder. Made of 100% Solid Horn, Size: 11 Inch, Regardless of Material or Shape, For which powder flask is the strictly correct term
Brass hose end nozzle to fit the open end of the horn and after drilling through the pointed end is provided with a tightly fitting plug which is pulled out for loading powder into a muzzle loading shotgun, musket or flintlock rifle.
It is a fine reproduction of a generic powder horn that is suitable as a functional or decorative accessory for any period from the 1600's up until almost the modern day. It was generally created from Cow, Ox or Buffalo Horn and has carved on decorations and comes with a basic leather strap.
